
Overview
In this workshop, we will explore creating ink from Hopi sunflower seeds for use on paper and textiles. We will learn about what makes a plant a dye plant and how to use mordants to create permanent color on fabric. We will also explore the spontaneity of wild ink and how you can play with vinegar, salt, and metals for surprising results on paper.
Space is limited to 15 maximum participants; registration required. Scholarships are available upon request. Registration opens one month prior to workshop, committed participants encouraged. Please dress for changing weather conditions.
About the Instructor

Mariah Palmer is a natural dye artist and textile designer. She specializes in creating inks, paints, and dyes using local plants that she grows and forages in the mountains surrounding Bozeman.
