Join Ellie from Bozeman Public Library in learning all about early forms of animation! This is your chance to tinker with and explore early animation devices such as the thaumatrope, zoetrope, and praxinoscope. Participants will view examples from famous innovative image makers like Eadweard Muybridge and Lotte Reiniger before making their moving images!

This workshop is geared towards children ages 5-11 years old and is free and open to the public. 20 pariticpants max. Registration strongly encouraged to reserve your spot.

Ellie Newell is Head of Youth Services at Bozeman Public Library. She is a champion of books and is passionate about art. Tinworks is thrilled to partner with Ellie and BPL to continue offering free children’s workshops featuring themes from the 2026 Chisel & Razor exhibition.
